TONGUE + GROOVE
When the diameter of a mould increases or when more parts are added, it is prudent on the side opposite the hinge to add a tongue and groove to prevent sidewise movement of the parts of the mould. Some times the tongue extends over the edge of the other side as a catch. These are fixed parts of the mould.

Clasp + Catch

Clasps have a hinge structure . One leaf is soldered to the mould. The other, the hasp ,
moves over a retainer: an edge, a bar, a knob or a loop., on the other half of the mould. Or the hasp may have a hole that closes over a stud or post to hold the two sides together. A globe may slide into a wire loop. A globe may slide past another. Two magnets may be brought together. Finally is a dead bolt system
